When I designed the Somewhere Over The Rainbow ring, earrings and cuff I saw it as a symbol of uplifting Hope at the time through my own storm, now I am moved at how the Rainbow has become a universal symbol of Hope and strength, as around the world we are navigating through uncharted storm that is Covid-19. Our frontline workers and our nurses are more than ever, faced with astonishing challenges that most of us would never be able endure. They are under paid and overworked anyway and this challenging time has highlighted how NHS nurses and carers do so so much to care for others in need and are so underpaid, living for many in hardship when faced with their own personal challenges too. The charity Cavell Nurses Trust I will therefore be donating from profits of the sale my Somewhere Over The Rainbow pieces. This is a charity which supports the welfare of nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants in the United Kingdom and was formed in 1917 in memory of nurse Edith Cavell, a British nurse. who saved the lives of soldiers during the First World War without discrimination .
